TN COLLEGE OF APPLIED TECHNOLOGY DICKSON Associate Instructor, Computer Information Technology, Clarksville in Clarksville, Tennessee

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is accepting applications for a second full-time position of Associate Instructor in the Computer Information Technology program at the Clarksville Campus. This is a grant-funded position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education with credentials in related field. Associate degree preferred. A comparable combination of related work experience, current certifications and education may be considered.
  • Three (3) years of full-time experience in the Computer Information Technology field within the last five (5) years.
  • Must possess a high degree of knowledge in network administration, PC hardware, systems analysis and software.
  • Must possess the organizational and communications skills necessary to be an effective teacher and to interact with high school and adult students.
  • Current CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ certifications and Microsoft certifications or the ability to become certified within twelve (12) calendar months.
  • Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students is a plus.

SKILLS

  • Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher and to interact with high school and adult students.
  • Must show evidence of good character, mature attitude, and stable personality.
  • Must be willing to remain current in the instructional field and maintain personal certifications and program accreditation(s).
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, faculty, staff, the general public and business/industry representatives.
  • Must be willing and able to perform administrative duties in a timely manner.

GENERAL DUTIES

:

The Computer Information Technology Associate Instructor is responsible for providing individualized theory and hands-on instruction, in conjunction with an additional full-time instructor, to adult and high school students to prepare them for employment in the field.

Areas of instruction include, but are not limited to: troubleshooting, system architecture and protocols, software applications, programming, hardware assembly and repair, backup strategies, networking and configuring computers and related peripheral devices. The Associate Instructor must monitor, grade and

evaluate individual student progress; maintain student records in the colleges student records management software; maintain appropriate documentation; submit timely reports; assist in recruiting new students; assist with graduate placement, and assist the IT Coordinator with campus network administration and issues. This position must also maintain good public relations with business and industry; maintain an active advisory committee; cooperate with outside agencies; and supervise and follow-up on students participating in cooperative education. This position is full-time and reports to the Director of the Clarksville Campus. Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Scheduled class hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Instruction is delivered in-person.

SALARY:

$50,142-$60,171 annually ($25.71-$30.86 per hour).

Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines and directly related experience.
