Prysmian Group Ring Marking Technician - Flex 40 in Claremont, North Carolina

Position Description:

  • The person shall provide technical maintenance to install, startup, and support of a fiber process

  • Work independently to resolve daily and very importantly, recurring issues

  • Follow process data daily and weekly to identify trends, influences, or recurring patterns from the ring marking machine

  • Generate procedural documents for preventative or corrective maintenance tasks.

  • Generate Operational Corrective Action Plans (OCAPs) for ring marking machines with help from engineering.

  • Train shift maintenance technicians to execute maintenance or OCAPs

  • Ability to repair equipment or give remote direction for how to repair in an emergency situation, possibly on nights and weekends.

  • Assist in maintaining die cleaning area and waste disposal of cleaning agents as needed.

  • Assist maintenance and engineering team in plant shutdowns or startups.

  • Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems

  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines

  • Maintain exceptional housekeeping in on the floor and maintenance support areas

  • Other duties as assigned by direct manager or a member of management

  • Provide on-call assistance during weekends and nights

  • Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, work at heights, lift up to 75 pounds and be on their feet for the entire shift

Education:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:

  • Associates Degree in mechatronics, engineering technology or similar field.

Experience

Required:

  • Demonstrated excellent mechanical and electrical ability

  • Experience reading electrical schematics

  • Experience reading mechanical drawings

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting

Preferred:

  • Experience in fiber optic manufacturing or fiber optic cable manufacturing

  • Experience monitoring pieces of equipment for drifts or negative trends and correcting equipment or recipes

  • Experience with new equipment installation and start up

Skills/Attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to use e-mail, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel

  • Detail and quality orientated

  • Analytical technical problem solver

  • Motivated team player

  • Drive and curiosity to improve the process

  • Ability to work with little supervision
