Pacific Seafood Operations Management Intern in Clackamas, Oregon

Pacific Seafood offers a unique, 12-week internship program that gives interns the chance to make an immediate impact on our company. Starting with a structured orientation week at our corporate headquarters near Portland, Ore, you’ll be able to meet the team and learn the full scope of our business. Throughout the summer months, you’ll dive deep into a meaningful project for our company, which you’ll then present to our executive leadership team at the end of your internship. This internship will provide a unique experience as the intern will be working closely with the local General Manager (GM) to gain an understanding of all aspects of what makes a large distribution center successful. Under the mentorship of the General Manager, you will learn how different departments work together and the intricacies of each department. You will also work to identify potential areas for improvement and develop a plan to implement those recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) at all times.

  • Partner with the VP of Distribution to develop an understanding of the entire distribution process, associated process flows, and costing models through hands-on experience, observation, and analysis.

  • Learn about the intricacies of each department – recommend ways to improve efficiencies and synergies.

  • Use of continuous improvement, project management and change management practices.

  • Observe and evaluate current process flows and create creative solutions to increase efficiencies.

  • Prepare project overview and present findings to executive leadership.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

What You Bring to Pacific Seafood

Required

  • Pursuit of a Business, Operations Management, or related undergraduate/graduate degree

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Targeted graduation of June 2025 or sooner

Preferred

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  • Experience with various process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or TQM
