DEPARTMENT:Youth DepartmentREPORTS TO:Corps OfficerSUPERVISES:Potential Youth VolunteersSTATUS:Non-ExemptSCHEDULE:Part TimeFUNCTION:Responsible for coordinating youth ministries. The Youth Coordinator will plan, organize, and facilitate quality youth programs by providing ministry support, oversight to all after school programs and oversight to any summer enrichment program at The Salvation Army

Responsibilities

DUTIES:a) Maintain a daily devotional and prayer lifeb) Weekly participation in Corps Worship Service (Holiness Meeting)c) Work in unity with the Corps Officers and Youth Peoples Sergeant Major (where applicable) to ensure programming excellence in all aspects of youth ministriesd) Develop and maintain a healthy working relationship with all persons in accordance with the practices and policies of The Salvation Armye) Coordinate and implement the evangelism, discipleship, & leadership development of the young people involved in corps programs including opportunities for new ministry initiativesf) Plan and implement recruitment, leadership development & training opportunities to increase the quality and effectiveness of volunteer staffg) Regular contact and visitation of those that participate in youth activities and their familiesh) Provide leadership and support for youth Sunday School classes and other youth programmingi) Provide leadership and support as needed for youth activities such as, Junior Soldiers, Corps Cadets, Bible Bowl, Music Programs, VBS, Troops Programs, etc.j) Recruit, coordinate, and transport kids attending camp, Youth Councils, young adult gatherings & other divisional eventsk) Maintain all records of attendance & statistics for related programl) Maintain clean work and program areas

m) Maintain youth programming throughout the year including Christmas and summer breakn) Attend all required Youth Ministries Coordinator meetings conducted by Territorial and Divisional Youth Departmentso) Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Strong personal Christian values and high moral character• Creative program ability• Strong organizational skills• Ability to be a team member and function in a work alone situation to complete tasks• Intermediate level computer skills• Valid Driver’s License and able to drive a 12-passenger van• A Uniform wearing Salvationist preferred• Musical ability preferred but not a must• Must be available to work evenings and weekends• Must complete and keep up to date KeepSAfe and other requirements• Must remain and keep confidentiality• Must embrace and promote the mission of The Salvation Army
