Synchrony VP, Platform Relationship Manager - eCommerce Solutions in Cincinnati, Ohio

Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The principal responsibility of the Platform Relationship Manager will be to work with the GM and Cross Functional teams to build deep partnerships with eCommerce Platforms (Adobe, Big Commerce). This includes driving core elements of the Platform relationship (joint planning, educating Platform counterparts on Synchrony solution, attending platform events). This manager will engage small digital merchants, encouraging them to properly integrate and deploy Synchrony assets to grow their businesses and maximize value of the credit program. This manager will also pitch distribution partners (e.g. web agencies, nascent platforms) who have access to networks of small merchants and can enroll in bulk.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead platform relationships (Adobe + Big Commerce). Develop joint plans and reporting, work with Platform teams to market Synchrony eCommerce Solutions to merchants.

  • Pitch prospective merchants, sharing Synchrony eCommerce Solutions and communicating how Synchrony can help small digital merchants grow their businesses

  • Engage existing merchants, ensuring website integrations are compliant and encouraging merchants to deploy Synchrony marketing assets to maximize program value

  • Ensure program performance & sales goals are met

  • Partner with cross-functional team in the development and implementation of key strategies required to drive market penetration and growth

  • Train Platform 'payment experts' and sales teams who advise merchants, so that they are able to effectively identify and refer merchant to Synchrony

  • Ensure all contractual and compliance obligations are being met

  • Attend Platform-sponsored conventions / trade shows

  • Help maintain competitive information and relay learnings to Product teams to continue to improve Synchrony's solution

  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity to develop & improve client relationships as well as sell potential prospects on the benefits of joining the Synchrony financing program.

  • Work with Sales Support team to resolve day-to-day escalated/ad hoc client and sales requests.

  • Continually promote and apply Synchrony Financial Values, acting as a role model for integrity.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or in lieu of degree, 10 plus years of equivalent work experience

  • 7 years plus years of experience in sales and/or marketing roles managing or running a consumer finance or PLCC program or portfolio either from bank or retailer side of business

  • 7 years plus years of experience in either client management or retail management

  • Ability to travel occasionally, as needed

  • Demonstrated prior experience involving merchant and partner management

  • Strong sales, creative and analytical skills

  • Organizational skills and effective time management to succeed in a fast-paced environment

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
