Talbert House Therapeutic Support Specialist - Passages (2nd shift) in Cincinnati, Ohio
Position Description:
- Lead and act as a resource for TSS II staff at site; organize shift tasks to assure most efficient use of resources and time available without compromising safety and security of clients or staff
- Actively supervise and engage clients to create a safe and therapeutic environment, including planning, implementing and supporting therapeutic/educational activities
- Utilize approved techniques to maintain safety of clients and staff including crisis de-escalation and conflict management; be cognizant of special behavior plans for clients
- Promote healthy and professional relationships with and between clients, including helping clients learn to make appropriate decisions
- Utilize a trauma-informed approach when dealing with clients and families
- Maintain health and safety standards within the facility
- Complete accurate and timely documentation utilizing designated software
- Respond to emergencies or incidents through approved practices and protocols
- Operate vehicle to transport clients as required
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate level problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
- Effective use of computer and basic data management for record keeping purposes
- Basic conflict resolution/crisis management skills and techniques
- Learn and practice program specific principles such as Trauma Informed Care and Crisis Intervention (once trained)
- Driving if required by program
Job Requirements:
- High School Graduate or High School Equivalency
- At least 21 years of age
- 1-3 years experience in similar setting
