Job Overview Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC), University of Cincinnati, was founded in 1938 and serves more than 30 hospitals in 18 counties in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeastern Indiana. The Research Department of the Hoxworth Blood Center is seeking a candidate for a full-time (100% FTE), Senior Research Assistant position. The candidate will join a dynamic team to assist in the execution of SOP-driven research projects in pre-clinical and clinical trials in transfusion medicine and/or cell therapies. Essential Functions Independently perform experiments and record data according to research protocols. May maintain and oversee animal colony management and animal husbandry. Solve problems using combined research knowledge. Analyze research results. Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data. Organize data search and analysis procedures. Assist in establishing test controls, criteria and research standards. Assist with the design of complex data processing systems to analyze research data. Accomplish assigned results for projects/studies, or for significant aspects of larger, complex assignments. Serve as seasoned professional. May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. Required Experience Three (3) years of relevant experience. Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.
