Job Title: Rebar Account Representative Company: Byer Steel Location: Cincinnati, OH Job Summary: This is an inside and outside sales position responsible for the sales of Byer Steel's manufactured A996 stock length rebar and stocked fabricated rebar parts. These products are sold primarily to the masonry and concrete construction industries. Job expectation is an average of 2-3 days on the road in the tri-state area visiting customers, driving new business, and following up on sales leads. The balance of the week is spent working from the office. This is an essential member of a small sales team requiring in-house administration of accounts, managing customer inquiries, issues, and processing of sales orders. Generation of leads and new business is the primary focus of this role. Building strong customer relationships, market knowledge, account management, and communication skills are required to succeed in this role. Opportunities for growth exist. Essential Job Duties: Work with inside salesperson to oversee Byer Steel's sales of stock length rebar and stock fabricated rebar parts Serve as primary face-to-face point of contact of top rebar customers Effectively communicate detailed information on A996 rebar and other various products and services provided by the company to our established and potential customers in a positive and informative manner. Generate new business and revenue Demonstrate skill in all phases of the sales cycle including prospecting, identifying, qualifying, acquiring and servicing customers. Meet or exceed monthly and yearly tonnage sales goal Troubleshoot customer issues or complaints and communicate relevant information to Inside Salesperson Communicate cancellation or change orders and communicate changes with inside salesperson to ensure accurate order and delivery commitment is met Attend daily morning production/scheduling meetings, in addition to any other sales meetings, training and activities when in office Maintain professionalism, diplomacy and tact. Gather market intelligence along with negotiating, closing and follow up of sales orders. Enter and update orders in MAS500 software for accurate processing Update CRM daily of all customer contact and relevant information Leveraging CRM systems and other tools to streamline sales processes, scheduling and boost productivity Quickly adapting to market changes or evolving customer preferences Represent Byer Steel at industry networking events and customer expo opportunities Monitor material certifications and customer requirements Qualifications and Experience: High School diploma required, related technical field or equivalent experience Valid Driver License -- Required Proficient level of computer skills; MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Mapping and Internet Research Knowledge and understanding of the construction industry Proven Sales Experience Goal oriented -- Setting targets and strategy to achieve Excellent customer service and both verbal and written communication skills Able to multi-task in fast-paced environment with shifting priorities Should be honest, ethical, dedicated, dependable and approachable Ability to work independently, self-motivated Negotiation Skills, negotiate prices or terms to close sale and maintain profitability Excellent Communication Skills, active listening Ability to relate to the customers perspectives Problem solving skills, be able to identify customer problems and offer appropriate solutions Resilience and persistence in the face of rejection and lost sales Effective time management skills, planning and scheduling of sales calls and account maintenance Working Conditions: Balancing work schedule between office and outside customers vi
