Job Title: Operations Controller

Summary:

The CTG Operations Controller is responsible for overseeing the cost accounting and gross margin reporting functions of Cleaning Technologies Group, LLC. This position works closely with the CTG CFO and Divisional Presidents to drive strategy and improve operational performance with accurate operational reporting and forecasting along with process improvement endeavors.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS to PERFORM DUTIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manages systems for current, accurate, and complete reporting of job costs, overhead, inventory, controls, and physical inventory counts.

• Manages the forecasting process including analyzing trends and patterns to make recommendations for improved financial operational results.

• Manages the annual capital expenditures budget for CTG including the plant assets at each division.

• Ensures monthly and annual reconciliations, schedules, and financial reporting on projects under the percentage of completion revenue recognition.

• Manages direct reports in the cost accounting roles within the Company.

• Works closely with senior leadership in determining overhead rates for each division.

• Works closely with senior leadership in preparing the annual budgets for the Board.

• Works closely with senior leadership in preparing presentations for the Board.

• Works closely with senior management and department heads to explore how the finance function can support their operations.

• Works closely with outside consultants and internal customers on the implementation of a new ERP system.

• Monitors profit performance and other operational metrics.

• Leads continuous improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the cost accounting functions.

• Participates in other functions or special projects as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for leading the cost accounting team across a multi-site, multi-divisional company.

Qualifications/Skills:

Possesses critical thinking and conflict management skills with a strong process focus.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with 7 years practical work experience in cost accounting within the manufacturing arena. Experience as a plant controller with a strong operational focus is a plus.

• Must be well-organized and able to work under pressure.

• Must possess strong Microsoft Excel and ERP skills.

Language Skills:

Possesses the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with employees, department leads, and outside contacts about work in progress, problem-solving, and project completion. Makes effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics.

Mathematical Skills:

College math and competency in preparing mathematical formulas within Microsoft Excel.

Reasoning Ability:

Must be able to identify work process problems and practical solutions. Capable of strategic thinking in response to change and growth opportunities.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

CPA, MBA, or CMA preferred, not required. Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certifications preferred, not required.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit at a workstation for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to adjust visual focus. May be required to reach, stoop and/or bend on an as needed basis. Some light lifting may be required. Must be able to climb stairs as necessary. Must be able to travel to three divisional plant facilities.
