Job Description Summary

Responsible for providing financial planning, analysis and reporting for Corporate, a business, or a P&L within a business. In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for P/L Analysis and Cost support on the business cycle- 3 year plan, budget, forecasts at regional level.

  • Support in closing activities related to income statement including journal entry posting, and internal reporting required by GE Vernova.

  • Manage reporting and forecasting for headcount and fixed production and SG&A cost.

  • Monitor labor hours vouchering monthly and collaborate with functional leadership to ensure on time hours recording.

  • Analyze the performance and propose action plans to improve profitability as well as corrective action plans as needed.

  • Maintain cost center forecasts to develop government actual and forward pricing rates and in support of closing and reporting to FP&A

  • Direct support to Marine Segment OTR Finance leader in monthly & quarterly closing, ASC 606 revenue accounting on projects, preparation of pacing and budgets

  • Administration of SAP ERP to maintain government accounting system, implement cost control procedures, and provide support over cost and methods.

  • Assist in the preparation of incurred costs submissions and contract close-out

  • Supports the preparation of proposals and rate audits for cost plus, T&M and fixed priced contracts and advise management on pricing strategy for profit maximization.

  • Supports liaison with government auditors.

  • Other duties may be assigned by management to meet business needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Four (4) year degree in Business, Finance, or other relevant field.

  • 4+ years in Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Adept analytical and problem solving skills

  • Proficiency working with SAP and MS Office applications

  • Proven ability to interact and communicate with internal and external customers.

  • Previous hands-on government cost accounting experience

  • Demonstrate a high degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity. .

  • Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals, essential.

  • Ability to make recommendations regarding process improvements through lean practices
