Job Title: Formulation Scientist/Manager

Job Description

As an R&D Formulation Scientist/Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and contributing to the success of a lean, dynamic team. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of fabric care and household products while working with some of the most recognizable brands in the market. Responsibilities

  • Lead laundry detergent formula design, development, testing, and market execution.

  • Coach staff and develop technical product development capabilities.

  • Foster an inclusive team culture and collaboration.

  • Support new product development and current business R&D in formulated products.

  • Conceptualize consumer and technical needs, formulate and develop new formulas and upgrades.

  • Assess relevant technologies, prototype, test, and qualify products for launch.

  • Draft raw material specifications, batch making sheets, formula cards, and claims support.

  • Provide R&D support for product trials in plant and production.

  • Collaborate with packaging, QA, and plant operations teams.

  • Manage multiple projects with agility and deliver on time, in full, and on cost.

  • Communicate progress well in multifunctional project teams and to VP R&D/Regulatory and Business Leadership.

  • Collaborate with marketing, regulatory/safety, packaging, QA, and product supply functions.

  • Coach, mentor, and grow research staff.

  • Maintain and improve product development laboratory and capabilities.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).

  • At least 7 years of R&D experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) product development, specifically in formulated products such as laundry detergents and stain removers.

  • Strong experience in new product development, from conceptualization and prototyping to testing and launch.

  • Experienced in process development or providing R&D support for product trials in plant and production.

  • Self-starter and fast learner with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with packaging, QA, and plant operations teams.

  • Strong communication skills across multifunctional teams.

  • Passion for growing oneself and others within the R&D product development organization.
