Location: Daniel Drake Department: LTAC Hours: Full Time Shift: 12 Hour AM UC Health is hiring a full-time Health Unit Coordinator for third shift at Daniel Drake Center for Post-Acute Care. The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) provides the clerical support to the clinical team in carrying out the daily functions of patient care. The HUC is responsible for transcription of physician's orders, maintaining the patient's medical record, related forms and documents from admission to discharge. Provides the communication link for processing information/requests to and from patients, staff, visitors, physicians, and other departments or agencies. About Daniel Drake Center for Post-Acute Care Daniel Drake Center for Post-Acute Care is the regions premier provider of post-acute and transitional care services, offering a complete range of inpatient and outpatient services including medically complex care, skilled nursing, assisted living, wellness services and research. Daniel Drake Center helps patients recover from catastrophic injury and illness including multi-system organ failure, complex wound care, traumatic brain injury, stroke and spinal cord injury. Daniel Drake is the only hospital-based skilled nursing facility in the Cincinnati region. Patients at Daniel Drake Center have access to many hospital-based services including 24/7 on-site physician coverage, pharmacy, diagnostic imaging, wound care and specialty physician consulting services. The availability of these on-site services allows for quick response to the complex and evolving care needs for our patients.Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. HUC education from college or vocational school preferred. Years of Experience: 1-2 years equivalent customer service experience. Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Takes initiative on tasks with minimal supervision; self-starter.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communications skills both written and verbal required.
  • Demonstrated excellent computer skills with Microsoft Software packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook and database management.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a demanding environment are essential.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Completes yearly mandatory unit specific, hospital and safety education
  • BLS (if not certified at hire, can receive training during orientation)
