Job Overview:

We are seeking a CNC Process Engineer with expertise in composite manufacturing and aerospace parts programming. This role focuses on composite ply shape modifications, nesting creation, and tooling design to support low-rate production and lab environments. The position requires close collaboration with manufacturing engineers, design engineers, and technicians to optimize manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the design of composite molds, tools, and fixtures:

o Develop composite molds and tooling to enable efficient manufacturing of novel composite hardware.

o Create mold and tool assemblies with fully parametric features.

o Generate mold and tooling definitions in 2D cross-sections, 2D drawings, and exportable CAD formats.

• Optimize composite ply shape modifications and nesting layouts:

o Use CutWorks and Sigmanest software to create and modify ply nestings based on product definitions.

o Work with product owners, engineers, and technicians to troubleshoot and inspect composite ply layouts and related equipment.

• Support manufacturing, tooling, and quality processes:

o Assist in assembly, tooling, and inspection to ensure compliance with cost, quality, and schedule expectations.

o Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product accuracy.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in CNC programming with a focus on composite manufacturing.

• Proficiency in computer-aided drafting/design (CAD) and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

• Knowledge of manufacturing, tooling, and inspection processes in aerospace or composite applications.
