The Certified Instrument Processing Technician performs all activities associated with decontamination, clean prep, tray assembly, sterilization, distribution and acquiring of instruments and supplies for the OR and L/D DepartmentsEducation: High school diploma or GED Years of Experience: 1 year sterile processing experience Required Skills and Knowledge: Requires proven competency in instrumentation set up, decontamination and sterilization. Knowledge and competency of different types of sterilization equipment. Knowledge of medical supplies required. Must be able to demonstrate competency in computer ,verbal and written communication skills. Licenses and Certifications: CRCST certification required and annual maintenance.

  • Perform all level I tech duties and responsibilities
  • Train and precept new staff
  • Responsible for oversight of processing department equipment
  • Identify specialty instruments and supplies
  • Complete all paperwork associated with sterilization processes for patient safety and accreditation purposes
  • Attention to detail in performing job duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain and recognize sterility of supplies and trays
  • Deliver and interpret requested supplies/items
  • Must be able to prioritize and respond appropriately to a variety of situations
  • Able to perform and organize high volume cases
