Buyer / Purchasing Agent Purchasing Agent Responsibilities:

  • Researching and comparing suppliers, goods, and services.
  • Selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, cost-efficiency, and delivery terms
  • Working with inventory manager and production planner to maintain products and materials to meet production needs.
  • Requesting cost proposals and negotiating contracts and prices.
  • Preparing and processing purchase orders.
  • Maintaining records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments.
  • Working with finance to forecast expected material receipts and work on ETC reports
  • Scheduling and verifying purchase deliveries. Ensuring timely deliveries and follow up with vendors as needed.
  • Building and maintaining positive, long-term supplier relations.
  • Working with project management team to meet project schedules and customer requirements
  • Will interface with internal QA team to ensure supplier quality on an ongoing basis.

Purchasing Agent Requirements:

  • Associate's degree and equivalent experience or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Procurement or equivalent.
  • 5 Years experience as a purchasing agent preferred or in a similar position preferrable in a manufacturing environment.

``` - Proficiency in MS Office, and experience with ERP/MRP Systems. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills. - Strong organization and documentation skills. - Strong research and analytical skills. - Must be a team player with a positive attitude that can respond to challenges and handle working in fast paced environment - This position includes access or potential access to export-controlled data. Therefore, you will need to qualify as a U.S. Person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Permanent Resident or a political asylee in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Acceptable proof of this status includes a US Passport, Permanent Resident Card, US birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate. Maintenance, including renewal, of licensing authorization is a condition of employment. Government authorization may be a suitable alternative after review on a case-by-case basis.
