In the Telemetry Float Pool, nurses utilize advanced telemetry monitoring systems for real-time tracking of patients' cardiac activity, allowing for swift responses to critical changes. Collaboration is key, as nurses work closely with a multidisciplinary team-physicians, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists-to create individualized care plans that meet each patient's unique needs. The Critical Care Float Pool specializes in high-acuity nursing for critically ill patients across multiple departments. Nurses manage severe conditions that require intensive monitoring and rapid intervention, seamlessly transitioning between intensive care units (ICU), cardiac care units (CCU), and other critical care environments. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, nurses assess real-time patient changes and ensure timely, effective care. Job Overview: This position is responsible for addressing patient care, staffing, and any other issues that may arise during a shift. Supervises nurses and staff and takes administrative responsibilities and ensures adequate staffing for the oncoming shift. Handles occurrences during the shift as well as appropriate documentation, and communication. In the event of a disaster or Red Alert, this position will assume the role of Incident Commander until relieved by a senior administrators. Responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed. Manages day-to-day performance of their jobs. Collaborates with nursing management on operational and human resources issues. Contributes information for performance appraisals. The position also requires the ability to gather pertinent information to process patient transfer requests, arranging transportation and maintaining the transfer center. Ability to learn and demonstrate coordination with Physicians, Case Managers, and facility staff to effectively document consults and transfer requests. Must also prioritize tasks, adhere to deadlines, and provide status updates on assigned projects and transfers.
