About the Department Based on the Carnegie Foundation Classification System, The University of Cincinnati (www.uc.edu) is a Doctoral Granting Research University with very high research activity (RU/VH). It is part of Ohio's higher education system with over 50,000 students in attendance. The Sport Administration Program is located within the School of Human Services in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology. The School also includes undergraduate and graduate programs in Behavior Analysis, Counseling, Exercise Science, Health Promotion and Education, and School Psychology. The School is a leader in online course and program development, and there are many active collaborative activities across programs and with community partners. The Sport Administration program began in 2008 and has experienced continued growth since its inception. The Bachelor of Science in Sport Administration has approximately 480 student majors. The Master of Science in Sport Administration is an online graduate program focusing on Interscholastic and Intercollegiate Athletic Administration. The master's program has approximately 120 students. Our doctoral program welcomed its first class in Fall 2024 with five students. Program priorities include the following areas: sport economics, adaptive/disability sport, women in sport, sport law, sexuality in sport, sustainability/sport ecology, and research methods (quantitative). In addition, the program values excellence and consistency in research productivity and a clear vision of future research success. Lastly, the program values experience (work, research or service) with collegiate or professional sport and a proven record of bringing professional practice into the classroom in our faculty. Job Overview The University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for up to two (2) tenure-track Assistant Professors of Sport Administration. Essential Functions Maintaining an active research agenda in the sport administration or related field including publications, presentations, grant writing and/or pursuit of external funding consistent with the Program and University focus on research excellence. Teaching a diverse set of undergraduate, masters, and doctoral courses, including online courses, in topic areas such as but not limited to sport marketing, sport public relations, sales, management, sport finance, sport governance, ethical issues in sport, sport analytics, and sport law. Advising graduate students, guiding dissertation research, and serving on doctoral committees.
