Job Description

Has mastery of the basic lab fundamentals and technical knowledge and skills in area via direct in lab activities and presence. Applies technical background, both academic and work related, to independently complete established methods, solve problems and generate reliable data to meet defined program needs. Demonstrates ability to develop and validate new analytical methods and approaches to meet assigned program needs and can resolve next steps based on results-to-date and starting to independently develop approaches and methods to address needs with mentorship from technical coach. Summarizes and interprets key findings/results and understands the importance and direct impact of work in relation to larger program goals and needs by using training and technical background. Demonstrates the ability to understand product chemistry and material interactions and integrates this knowledge with data to generate project knowledge

Mechanical and Physical Testing Measurement Science is a key capability in driving R&D excellence. Mechanical and Physical Testing is a crucial capability for elucidating technical relationships between material properties and product performance. This role is seeking a highly motivated individual who will be responsible for crafting, developing, and implementing Mechanical and Physical Testing Measurement capability. Broad knowledge and integration of Chemistry, Physics, Material Science and Engineering are fundamental to this role.

Job Qualifications

BS in Materials Science Engineering, Polymer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.

Hands-on (practical) lab skills in material property analysis, such as mechanical testing, thermal analysis, rheology, microscopy.

Theoretical understanding of proven mechanics, mechanical properties of materials, and fluid rheology.

Strong programming skills, including intermediate to advanced level programming coursework
