Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Description

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the condition of manufacturing equipment. This includes repairing or replacing failed components and performing preventative maintenance measures. You will also develop short- and long-term repair strategies aimed at enhancing both quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the condition of manufacturing equipment, including repairing or replacing failed components.

  • Perform preventative maintenance measures as applicable.

  • Develop repair strategies to improve quality and efficiency.

  • Apply automation skills and knowledge in electronics and mechanics to install and troubleshoot circuitry and control systems on machinery.

  • Work on AC & DC systems up to 480 volts.

  • Record maintenance and repair activities in a computer-based maintenance management system.

  • Perform electrical maintenance on various machines, including lathes, mills, welding and brazing equipment, presses, and automated assembly lines.

  • Work with PLCs, CNCs, and multi-access robots daily.

  • Use basic test equipment such as multimeters, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems.

  • Understand electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematics, and mechanical drawings to solve problems promptly.

  • Reduce downtime by working efficiently and performing root cause analysis.

  • Commit to safety and quality, possessing strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Essential Skills

  • 2-4 years of experience in a maintenance environment, preferably in manufacturing or a fast-paced setting.

  • General knowledge of electrical or electronics, machines and tools, measurement instruments, automation/robotics, maintenance, and repair.

  • Basic knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and familiarity.

  • Basic mathematics and trigonometry skills to understand complex instructions and schematics.

  • Intermediate maintenance skills.

  • Ability to create standard operating procedures.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and ladder logic.

  • Knowledge of electrical OSHA standards.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills to analyze situations and determine next steps.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • PLC programming and editing experience.

  • Experience working with 480 volts.

  • Associate's degree in Machining Technology or Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent work experience (preferred but not required).

  • Experience as a manufacturing maintenance technician.

Work Environment

You will train on the first shift for 2-3 weeks before moving to a 6:00 PM-6:30 AM shift structure with rotating 36-hour and 48-hour work weeks. You will have every other weekend off. The work environment is indoor, climate-controlled, and fast-paced.
