Marine Group Boat Works Journeyman Electrician in Chula Vista, California
The Journeyman Marine Electrician installs, maintains, tests and repairs wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electrical services aboard ship and in shipyard facilities, as well as applying general knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation

Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and shipbuilding practices.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
Ability to read composite blueprints, computer printouts, Navy standards manual and electrical diagrams.
Ability to maintain a safe working environment by following correct lock-out, danger, red tag procedures and WAF requirements.
Must have ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and be available to work extended hours.
Must comprehend written and verbal instructions, read, and comprehend safety instructions, regulations, and warnings.
Must have own tools and be able to work any shift.
Requirements: - Must have 5+ years experience at a journeyman level - Marine related experience is required (sorry, no exceptions).
- Must possess thorough knowledge of operational aspects of tugs, barges, and other commercial and government water vessels
- Must possess good communication skills and have a strong work ethic.
