About the Position:

Clinician I provides and conducts trauma-informed groups using trauma-informed curricula; structured and gender-responsive trauma-informed groups for juvenile offender projects. and work collaboratively with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), DRP, CCHS, and DAI institution staff.

This position works a daily shift from 12pm-8:30 pm .

Salary Range: $36/hr

What You Will Do:

  • Deliver services to the participants by conducting group and/or individual sessions.

  • Evaluate and document the progress of participants assigned to their groups. Works individually with each participant to develop and implement a treatment/action plan.

  • Engage participants daily, and reinforce group rules and expectations for participation and completion.

  • Participates in case conferences and provides guidance in determining education and vocational goals based on the interest and preferences of each participant in addition to individualized assessments.

  • Maintains supervision, including the development of the treatment plan, review of client's files, and initial and or ongoing client assessments.

  • Document the delivery of services in ARMS.

  • Work collaboratively with CDCR/CCHCS and institutional staff.

  • Work collaboratively with Facilitator Inmates and OMCP Mentors as needed during group sessions.

  • Responsible to provide clinical verification of internship hours for registered Clinician Staff and OMCP Mentors.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    What You Will Bring:

    The Clinician I must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A Ph.D. in a social service or mental health field and have at least one (1) year of experience working in a licensed and/or certified program delivering SUDT and/or mental health services OR A Master's Degree in a social service or mental health field have and at least (2) years of working in a licensed and/or certified program delivering SUDT and/or mental health services.

  • All Clinicians shall be licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences and maintain a current and active license, which is in good standing without current disciplinary action with their respective licensing board.

  • Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse; appreciation for the behavioral, psychological, physical, and social effects of drug abuse.

  • Understanding or program curriculum, objectives, and best practices for implementation.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and typing skills. Operational knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Access.

  • Ability to provide genuine warmth, empathy, and honest sensitivity to program participants to facilitate positive change.

  • Ability to develop a treatment alliance with participants. Demonstrate ethical behavior in order to maintain professional standards and safeguard the participant.

  • Demonstrate proper attitudes and techniques towards faculty, institution staff, and program participants; and model professional, effective work habits and responsible living.

  • Must be willing to work a daily shift from 12 pm-8:30 pm.
