Description
OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a Technical Assembler I who will be responsible for performing highly detailed assembly of small, complex components into sub-assemblies using a variety of hand & power tools, fixtures, work instructions and test equipment, perform a series of operations to correctly assemble parts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support precision assembly lines that require a specialty trained area of skill set to meet quality specifications
Complete rigorous training process and become certified in specialty area
Ensure fit, clearance, alignment, and functional performance complies with design requirements
Prepare and use fixtures to aid in locating, bonding, or drilling aircraft parts
Possess a combination of dexterity and mechanical skills with the ability to determine and decipher
Perform often repetitive, detailed, and complicated assembly of complex components accurately including precise drilling, deburring, and countersinking
Read, interpret, and follow detailed blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble products
Complete all paperwork required including clocking in/out of jobs and issuing components/hardware in ERP
Utilize hand and pneumatic tools safely to complete assembly. Includes: install and remove temporary fasteners, countersink holes, deburr parts, rivet parts, install and torque bolts/nuts
Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, and materials to Lead
Utilize 6S tools and procedures to maintain an organized and well-maintained work area
Pack parts for shipping taking care not to damage parts
Understand inventory locations to be proficient in pulling and issuing parts with correct quantities for jobs
Perform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan (including documentation of results)
Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for Safety and Quality standards and procedures
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1+ years related experience in a metal manufacturing environment
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Write simple correspondence
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Attention to detail and quality

SCHEDULE
- Monday-Thursday, 4:30 pm - 3:00 am.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
