Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Certain Competitive Service / Modified Direct Hire Authority. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer Responsibilities You will program and operate computer-numerical-control (CNC) machine tools. You will utilize computers for part programming and input or output of production control data. You will be responsible for independently planning, laying out, modifying, fabricating processes and procedures and require knowledge in more than a single trade. You will be responsible for a variety of projects including unique and one-of-a-kind prototype models. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Working on a variety of projects including unique and one-of-a-kind prototype models. 2) Ability to work with engineers and planners in multiple trades (i.e. welding, sheet-metal); 3) Providing solutions for manufacturing complex assemblies and providing guidance for the development of junior workers; and 4) Designing unique fixtures and tooling for hardware production. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
