Summary You will serve as a Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in the Corporate Business & Analysis Group of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE. Responsibilities You will assist the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) by developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data. You will be conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs. You will be developing and implementing programs to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures. You will be monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly. You will maintain a repository for all cybersecurity-related documentation, i.e. Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) management and tracking, Certification and Accreditation (C and A), and Computer Network Defense (CND). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Maintaining the current and future cybersecurity posture for an organization as well as assist in the maintenance and sustainment activities for all Information Systems (IS). 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing support to the assigned Information Systems Security Officers (ISSO) to maintain system compliance, validating compliance via scanning, and creating/maintaining artifacts that support the accreditation and continuous monitoring processes. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Communicating as a technical subject matter expert to various personnel, including IPT leads, division leadership, and department-level CSWF staff as needed. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Collaborating with others to provide integrated hardware/software solutions to multiple organizations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5/8) or pay band (DS-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as the following: 1) Independently performing basic IT maintenance; 2) Independently performing basic cybersecurity functions; 3) Utilizing Microsoft Office software suite to perform IT-related work; 4) Assisting with network administration, maintenance planning and support, and upgrade/expansion projects for an organization; 5) applying Information System Security policies.
