We have an exciting new opportunity for an Aviation Maintenance Control Manager located in China Lake, California!

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for coordinating maintenance servicing, repairing and overhauling of aircraft, GCSs, and GDTs to ensure that all equipment is in good mechanical condition and safe for flight. Coordinates scheduled maintenance and inspections, and verifies approvals are in place to release aircraft for flight. Develops a plan for hardware acquisition by coordinating with Program Office, Production Control, and Operations Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates maintenance servicing, repairing and overhauling of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to ensure that aircraft and Ground Control Stations (GCS) are configured and mission ready as requested by customers.

  • Coordinates and prioritizes maintenance actions needed to support flights, ground test, aircraft production and modifications.

  • Tracks and directs the accomplishment of Service Alert Bulletins, Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO), Air Worthiness Releases (AWR) and Scheduled Inspections for Aircraft, GCS and GSE.

  • Publishes UAS Status Reports to management and various customers providing aircraft and GCS status, current configuration, and production and modification progress.

  • Ensures documentation is in compliance with company, customer, and Government policies.

  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field and six or more years of progressive technical experience in aviation maintenance, with some military aviation experience.

  • Equivalent experience in aviation maintenance may be substituted in lieu of education.

  • Requires strong knowledge of and experience in aircraft maintenance in a military aircraft environment; and the ability to demonstrate the practical application of those experiences to problems encountered during daily flight and ground support operations.

  • Must have a thorough understanding of the practices and procedures of aviation maintenance as well as leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.

  • Must have a strong understanding of applicable policies and procedures as well as a sound understanding of relevant regulations; must be able to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of personnel including customers and vendors; analyze, interpret and explain non-routine information; establish priorities; respond to issues or situations that require evaluation and interpretation; and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Must be capable in the use of office and specialized functional area software and be able to work extended hours and all three shifts as required.

Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Eight or more years of military aircraft maintenance management experience.

  • Served in military Maintenance Control or Production Supervisor positions and operations centers.

  • Experience with FAA rules and regulations for civilian aircraft.

  • A&P License
