System One Maintenance Supervisor-Lubrication in Chillicothe, Ohio

Maintenance Supervisor - Lubrication Department

Location: Chillicothe, OH

Type: Direct hire (permanent)

Work Environment: 100% onsite

Role:

Oversee mill-wide lubrication best practices, ensuring crafts people's safety, training, and productivity to complete all lubrication routes as per manufacturer and mill specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safety & Training: Ensure craftsmen follow safety policies and procedures; maintain a hazard-free, clean shop. Complete safety contacts weekly and oversee work permits.

  • Certification: Achieve ICML Machine Lubrication I and II certifications; ensure crew certification on ICML MLT I standards.

  • Execution: Manage routine and outage lubrication routes, maintaining Key Performance Indicators.

  • Equipment & Tools: Maintain proper filtration, dehydration, and lubrication delivery equipment; ensure technicians have necessary tools.

  • Oil Sampling & Inventory: Oversee used oil sampling and analysis; manage lubrication inventory.

  • Coverage & Training: Ensure adequate lubrication coverage and train Tour Mechanics in lubrication techniques and equipment.

  • Documentation: Collaborate with supervisors and planners to label lubrication points and document lubricant types.

  • Reliability Incidents: Track and reduce lubrication-related reliability incidents, conducting Root Cause Failure Analysis.

  • Storage & Standards: Maintain satellite lubrication storage to FM Global standards.

  • BOMs & SAP: Update lubrication-related BOMs, specs, and guidelines in SAP; ensure lubricators utilize SAP effectively.

  • Technology & Improvement: Use technology to improve route tracking and documentation; maintain continuous improvement program documentation.

  • Supplier Collaboration: Work with Exxon Mobil for training and best practices.

  • Oil Leak Surveys: Conduct surveys to reduce leaks and improve oil consumption.

Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or equivalent; BS in mechanical engineering preferred.

  • Five years of mechanical experience in an industrial environment.

  • Adaptability, willingness to learn new skills, and accept challenges.

  • Ability to handle deadlines, variable workloads, and be on call.

  • Ability to work independently and in teams.

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and general familiarity with Windows; SAP experience is a plus.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Potential and willingness for promotion within the organization.
