Alaant Technical Sales Representative (Hybrid) in Chicago, Illinois

Alaant is excited to recruit a Technical Sales Representative- (Chemical) for our client, a leading specialty chemical distributor supplying various markets.

As the Technical Sales Representative-(Chemical), you will be responsible for the full sales cycle in selling industrial chemical products in a specific territory. You will also be responsible for providing top-tier customer service with the various brands and services provided to meet company goals and KPIs.

  • The salary range is between $90,000 - $125,000, plus quarterly, and yearly bonus eligibility.

Responsibilities For the Technical Sales Representative Role-(Chemical):

  • Oversee the sales process and sales pipeline while providing value-added technical expertise.

  • Make sales appointments with current and prospective customers to evaluate product needs.

  • Strong documentation regarding all sales meetings

  • Answer customer questions, provide quotes, credit terms, and bid specifications.

  • Meet sales goals and objectives.

  • Build strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

  • Prepare sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications.

  • Provide customers with ongoing technical support with both internal and external resources.

  • Attend sales and trade meetings.

Requirements For the Technical Sales Representative Role-(Chemical):

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Biology.

  • Must have a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Chemical Sales and Distribution (chemicals, coatings, plastics, rubber, etc.) is required.

  • Proven experience scaling up manufacturing sites and managing full-cycle supply chains.

  • The ability to update and report on various reports that measure company KPIs.

  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
