As a tax generalist at PwC, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive tax services and advice to clients. Your role involves assisting with various tax-related matters, including compliance, planning, and consulting. Here are some specific tasks and responsibilities of a tax generalist:

Tax compliance: You will help clients comply with tax laws and regulations by preparing and reviewing tax returns, including corporate, individual, partnership, and international tax filings. You will ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant tax codes and legislation.

Tax planning: You will assist clients in developing effective tax strategies to minimise tax liabilities and optimise financial outcomes. This may involve analysing financial data, identifying tax-saving opportunities, and recommending appropriate tax planning strategies.

Tax research and interpretation: You will stay updated on tax laws, regulations, and rulings to provide accurate and relevant advice to clients. You will conduct research on complex tax issues, interpret tax guidelines, and provide guidance on the application of tax laws to specific client situations.

Client advisory: You will collaborate with clients to understand their tax needs, goals, and challenges. You will also provide proactive advice, answer client queries, and offer guidance on tax implications of business decisions, mergers and acquisitions, and other transactions.

Audit support: You will work closely with auditors and provide necessary tax documentation and explanations during financial audits. You will also help clients respond to tax-related inquiries or challenges from tax authorities.

Cross-functional collaboration: You will often collaborate with professionals from other departments within the Firm, such as audit, advisory, and transaction services teams. You will provide tax experience and support to these teams on client engagements that require tax considerations.

Client relationship management: You will build and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring excellent service delivery and client satisfaction. You may also participate in business development activities, including identifying opportunities to expand services to existing clients or acquiring new clients.

Overall, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive tax services to clients, ensuring compliance, minimising tax liabilities, and assisting with tax planning strategies.

The Opportunity

As part of the Corporate Tax team you are expected to participate on engagements, research tax laws, rules, and regulations, and analyze their application. As an Associate you are expected to focus on learning and contributing to client engagement and projects while developing your skills and knowledge to deliver quality work. You are expected to be exposed to clients to learn how to build meaningful client connections, manage and inspire others, and grow your personal brand by developing your technical knowledge of firm services and technology resources.

What You Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • Required Cumulative GPA: 3.0

What Sets You Apart

  • Before starting with PwC full-time, meet all educational requirements to be eligible for the primary credential license appropriate for relevant practice area, such as meeting all educational requirements to satisfy the 150 credit hour requirement necessary for the CPA license in the state in which your office will be located, or provide documentation satisfactory to the Firm that your CPA license can be obtained in the state in which your office will be located through reciprocity based on either a CPA license held, or CPA exam passed, in another state.

The salary range for this position is: $53,500 - $132,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles that are based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
