Robert Half Staff Accountant in Chicago, Illinois

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Professional Services industry based in Chicago, Illinois. The role is as a Staff Accountant and involves a blend of in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare month-end journal entries and reconciliations to ensure accurate accounting records.

• Assist with month and year-end close processes, contributing to efficient and timely financial reporting.

• Participate in Joint Venture accounting and assist in the preparation of Joint Venture financial statements.

• Support the preparation and assembly of information for interim and year-end audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

• Contribute to ad-hoc projects, providing accounting expertise as needed.

• Perform other general accounting duties as assigned, maintaining the smooth operation of the accounting department.

• Utilize skills in General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, Accounting Entries, Microsoft Excel, Deltek, and Costpoint to perform and improve accounting functions.

Requirements • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

• Proven experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar is required.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for creating spreadsheets, charts, and financial reports.

• Familiarity with Deltek and Costpoint software for accounting management.

• Must be skilled in managing General Ledger, including reconciling accounts.

• Experience in preparing Journal Entries and managing Month End Close procedures.

• Ability to prepare and record Accounting Entries accurately.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

• Must have a strong ethical standard and integrity.

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal tax compliance regulations and reporting is necessary.

• CPA certification is a plus but not mandatory.
