We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Sr. Product Manager on our Improving Health Outcome team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office.

As a Sr. Product Manager, you will lead and drive measurable improvement of product management to inform Improving Health Outcomes (IHO) business-related strategies and decisions. Research, design and manage the complete product life cycle to develop products that meet the following criteria: impactful to health care and chronic disease management, aligned with stakeholders’ unmet needs and having a defined business case to support market adoption. Develop and introduce new products and product strategy including prioritizing features, coordinating product schedules with design and IT teammates, and leading all aspects of the product line life cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Management & Development

  • Develop, refine, and implement product life-cycle plans with focus on new products and expanding the IHO product portfolio; develop, manage, and communicate the product roadmap for product line(s); establish and monitor KPIs for products that inform IHO’s goals and strategy

  • Engage closely with engineering teams, AMA IT and development vendors to iteratively develop, test and refine and help determine the best technical implementation methods and implementation schedule for IHO products

  • Conduct regular product review sessions with stakeholders to align on roadmap, feature requirements, and solution designs; understand customer needs and gather and document product requirements

  • Document product strategy and status of work in progress; assess stakeholders’ feedback and provide insights on user needs, user experience and market goals

  • Manage user testing throughout the product life cycle, sales cycle, and post-implementation

  • Define acceptance test criteria and test cases that have been used by QA and acceptance testers

  • Manage vendors and external technical contractors; manage responsibilities outlined in the contract and statement of work and report project status regularly to stakeholders

  • Work closely with programmatic leads, internal leadership and external collaborators to manage product lines that integrate within IHO Solutions to ensure product objectives and goals are met

    Product Strategy, Sales, and Marketing Support

  • Act as a Strategy Consultant for new product ideas in the IHO pipeline; propose short and long-term strategies

  • Identify market opportunities and define product vision and strategy and generate insights from formative research, market gaps or technical

  • Perform industry/market and competitor analysis, identifying industry trends, regulations and customer needs and behaviors for the assigned product line; incorporate financial, competitive and market analysis in business plans maximizing adoption and ROI

  • Create and implement product launch plans in collaboration with Director of Marketing and with Programmatic leads including production of collateral/marketing plans, development of pricing/license strategies and sales strategies and selling points to all relevant parties

  • Deliver compelling product demos to a wide range of audiences including C-suite executives and clinicians

  • Advocate for, and promote, AMA IHO products internally and externally

    Management and Staff Development

  • Mentor, coach, and guide other Product team members

  • Responsible for setting objectives and evaluating staff performance; assure staff development

  • Identify opportunities for advancing staff skills and expertise

    May include other responsibilities as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree, product management certification, or clinical research background preferred.

  • Minimum of 7-10+ years’ experience as a product manager or similar positions in health care required

  • Demonstrated product commercialization success including industry and market analysis and business development.

  • Polished communication skills, both written and verbal; demonstrated ability to communicate with business, technical, clinical stakeholders, and prospects.

  • Experience with Agile methodology and product management best practices required.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate technical discussions, including software development processes for the non-technical person and for the highly technical.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage clinical discussions and negotiate with health care professionals; practical experience working with multiple external stakeholders to develop clinical, or health care operations use cases

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a matrixed team
