Job Purpose

The Sr. Infrastructure Network Engineer will have direct impact on the operations of the network. The Sr. Infrastructure Network Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining all company connections at a highly available, enterprise level and is involved in a mix of project work and system support. This role is part of a team which is responsible for the management of the network infrastructure environment ensuring the appropriate configuration, maintenance, and installation of routers, switches and appliances, hardware, software and tools. Responsible for the health and security of the route switch environment by maintaining the latest patches, updates, configuration and utilizing monitoring systems to help identify issues.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the department leader to identify, design and develop strategic network solutions compliant with technical and security policies.

  • Collaborates with other Jackson networking and technical teams and Information Security on new initiatives.

  • Acts as subject matter expert in several Jackson network technologies, including analysis and QA.

  • Assists in maintaining the network environment including configuration, IOS updates, patches.

  • Troubleshoots network issues levering the use of industry standard network tools and monitoring.

  • Operational support for day-to-day activities.

  • Cisco IOS, Cisco NXOS

  • Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator (NDO) -Multi Site/Multi Pod.

  • Firewall configuration and implementation (ASA , Firepower, and Checkpoint).

  • Wireless troubleshooting (Cisco Wireless Controllers).

  • Supports Fiber Channel Infrastructure (Nexus 5000,7000,8000,9000 series switches).

  • Supports various network appliances (Citrix NetScaler, F5 BIG-IP, Cisco ESA).

  • Network Documentation using Visio and publishing via SharePoint or Confluence.

  • Supports Level 1 and Level 2 technicians with trouble tickets for end users.

  • Assists in Business Continuity testing.

Other Duties

  • Provides after hours on call assistance on a rotation basis.

  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of Internet services, encryption, and network based protocols.

  • Understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies including: TCP/IP DNS, DHCP, VLANS, QoS.

  • Routing Protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF), Policy Based Routing, OTV, VXLAN.

  • VPN Configuration and setup (Any Connect and Easy VPN).

  • Background in process engineering and analytical abilities to learn new processes.

  • Knowledge of how emerging technologies would solve a technical problem or enhance the user experience.

  • Familiarity with storage and server virtualization technologies and dependencies to network infrastructure.

  • Coding: Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Yang, etc.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong project coordination skills.

  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong ability to interpret impact of technology decisions.

  • Ability to make effective decisions quickly with limited information.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field and/or equivalent experience required.

  • 5+ years of technical experience in the above qualifications required.

  • Experience in leading technology projects required.

  • ACI Deployment experience preferred.

  • Azure Solutions Architect/Azure Network Engineer preferred.

  • CCNP, CCIE preferred.

  • CISSP preferred.
