responsibilities:

The Sr. Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Reporting to the Accounting Manager. The Sr. Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the financial health and integrity of the organization.

• Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Lead the month-end closing process, including the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements.

• Conduct variance analysis to understand the fluctuations in operating results and discuss these findings monthly with the Accounting Manager.

• Cash and Treasury Management:

• Perform daily cash reconciliations and manage monthly banking reconciliations.

• Develop cash flow forecasts to effectively manage liquidity.

• Audit and Compliance Support:

• Coordinate with external auditors for the annual financial, insurance, and tax audits.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.

• Operational Support and Internal Controls:

• Support various accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Project Accounting, and occasionally Payroll.

• Enhance and monitor internal controls and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Budgeting and Financial Planning:

• Assist in the creation of financial projections and the annual budget.

• Provide support in financial decision-making processes by preparing and updating financial metrics and forecasts.

qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• Experience: At least three years of accounting experience, preferably in the Healthcare. Experience in a public accounting firm is a plus.

• Certifications: CPA or other relevant financial certifications are highly regarded.

• Technical Skills: Strong command of Excel and familiarity with ERP systems such as Sage 300; knowledge of Salesforce is beneficial.

• Professional Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.

This role is 5 days a week in the office and located in the downtown loop.

Base salary range will be $90-$115K
