BMO Financial Group Senior Treasury Consultant in Chicago, Illinois

  • Achieves sales and other targets established by business plans.

  • Collaborate with coverage relationship partners to generate ideas, identify client solutions, pursue sector marketing efforts, cover clients, and deliver timely solutions.

  • Utilizes consultative and advisory approach to provide value add solutions to current and prospective clients.

  • Leads and executes business development plans so that business goals are achieved or exceeded.

  • Proactively leverage centers of influence and contacts to prospect and generate new Treasury, Card and Deposit revenue

  • Operate as key member of the sales team and lead preparation of treasury proposals and pitches to prospective clients with efforts to maximize penetration and returns.

  • Provides Treasury and Payments structuring expertise and additional expertise as knowledge base and needs dictate.

  • Enterprise focused leader utilizing cross-selling skills to identify opportunities across the firm and convert them into sales.

  • Attends industry events and networks with contacts and centers of influence to gain competitive insights, best practices and new business.

  • Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.

  • Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.

  • Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.

  • Advises on sales strategy based on a deep understanding of the market, relevant industry verticals, market competitors, client needs and business growth opportunities.

  • Effectively manage work flow of Treasury Advisors by aligning tasks with departmental goals and objectives.

  • Lead team to success by capturing opportunities for ongoing mentoring, coaching, and career development of treasury analysts and advisors.

  • Influences the strategic direction of the line of business assisting with the development, prioritization and implementation of business, technology, sales and service, channel optimization and enhanced customer experience.

  • Manages the risk of the assigned complex portfolio in a timely and precise manner.

  • Directly manages the client business review process.

  • Maintains accurate documentation and ensure adherence to prescribed policies and procedures and overall safety of the Bank’s position.

  • Acts as the daily sales contact for the client for sales related questions such as product information, pricing, implementation timeframes and requirements.

  • Acts as the key sales contact with the client to gather the required detailed information necessary to move the sale forward in the process, including completing all necessary documentation.

  • Leads the treasury sales team in pre-sales activities such as pre call planning, client and prospect research, pitch preparation etc.

  • Tracks implementation requests to keep the process on track with timelines, ensures accurate billing to clients.

  • Compiles pre-call and post call information packages by accessing internal systems and bank personnel to validate client holdings, pricing, and volumes.

  • Provides research and data gathering to sales team to facilitate solution to the client’s/prospect’s business and needs.

  • Directs sales and service administration and processing ensuring client experience is seamless and opportunities are identified and met.

  • Responsible for updating client information and call notes in CRM to institutionalize client and ensure client history is accurate and complete.

  • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.

  • Implements changes in response to shifting trends.

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 10+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.

  • Strong interpersonal skills used within a team environment and in client interaction with emphasis on excelling in relationship building.

  • Strong ability to advocate persuasively.

  • Ability to work under limited supervision.

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly.

  • Excellent capability to independently and proactively service multiple clients and effectively manage multiple priorities.

  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth / Expert.

  • Able to manage ambiguity.

  • Data driven decision making - In-depth / Expert.

Salary:

$100,000.00 - $185,500.00

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
