Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Technical Lead, you will help us deliver our brand-new API platform on AWS, using an advanced API gateway and service mesh. You’ll build microservices that transform legacy functionality our $4bn ancillary business depends on into scalable technical products. With your experience designing APIs, you’ll help us create standards for future APIs we’ll develop and coach other developers on delivering self-service API products.

  • Develop high-performance APIs to deliver critical ancillary functionality to our business

  • Work with other engineers to deploy and configure our new API gateway

  • Help design observability strategies that allow us to respond and recover to outages in our applications or applications we depend on

  • Apply your opinion and judgement to API functionality we want to offer to help us build applications that are easy for others to consume

  • Mentor other engineers on designing APIs

  • Provide thought leadership and facilitate the development of architecture and development strategies in the ancillary technology area

  • Anticipate future technology requirements and use your hands-on experience to identify winning strategies

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, engineering, or related field

  • AWS or other Cloud Certifications

  • Experience designing, developing, and consuming Rest APIs

  • 4+ years of relevant experience writing software in at least one object-oriented programming language

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience collaborating with or leading other developers

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's degree in computer science or related field

  • Experience deploying applications on AWS

  • Experience developing CI/CD pipelines
