Insight Global Security Engineer in Chicago, Illinois

Job Description

This engineer will support organizational projects to make sure solutions are rolled out in a secure manner. Does occasionally roll out new solutions as well (DLP findings, need to go in and become a DLP expert to find a solution). People who thrive on learning new things would do well in this role. This role is a Cloud/Security generalist where thy will work with systems, networking, and security concepts. Someone with a Cloud Security skillset would do well in this role. There is currently a DLP and Zero Trust project they will work on.

Responsibilities include:

Manage remediation efforts after security assessment findings outline weaknesses requiring attention, including collaborating with other information technology teams to harden assets at all layers including operating systems, cloud platforms, databases, and network devices.

Document, formulate and enforce areas of security improvement in both cloud and traditional platforms that balance risk with business operations and do not diminish efficiencies or innovation.

Attend regular technical project and implementation meetings and serve as the security consultant to help guide secure application and infrastructure configurations.

Stay informed about emerging security technologies and trends and provide recommendations for their adoption.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

At least 5-7+ years' experience in cybersecurity as a practitioner and with at least 2-3+ years exposure with CLOUD SECURITY in Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure.

Cloud networking architecture and cloud operations

Traditional Networking experience understanding of firewalls, WASP

DLP knowledge

Scripting/automation experience such as Python and PowerShell is a MUST

Holds or working toward one or more including: CCSP, CISSP, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or additional AWS advanced certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information assurance, MIS or related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Initiative-taking and self-directed, well-organized, and able to position controls in anticipation of threats.

Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, PowerShell, and JavaScript.

Experience and understanding of various regulatory requirements and laws, including but not limited to: Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). Additionally, experience in one or more of the following: CIS, ISO 27001/2, ITIL or NIST.

History of acting with integrity, taking pride in work, seeking to excel, being curious and adaptable, and communicating effectively. Cyber Security certificates
