General Statement of Duties:

The Research & Digital Information Analyst will be responsible for providing reference and research services to attorneys, paralegals, summer associates, and team members in all Locke Lord LLP offices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide reference and research services to attorneys, paralegals, summer associates, and team members in all offices
  • Bill time for research and other work associated with active client matters
  • Perform in-depth legal, corporate, financial and/or general research for lawyers, staff, and clients by using the appropriate mix of the Firm\'s wide range of information resources
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the scope, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness of the Firm\'s numerous information resources, and select the most relevant tool(s) for any given request
  • Provide summary reports of research when appropriate, either via traditional narrative explanation, appropriate visualizations of data/information, or a combination of both
  • Work with Locke Lord LLP\'s Information Services Team to ensure all reference requests are acknowledged and completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Train lawyers, paralegals, and staff in the use of information resources; develop, prepare and conduct presentations/orientations giving information and training on relevant resources; assist in preparing and updating guides, newsletters, intranet pages, etc. which assist in the use of library services and information resources
  • Create print and digital asynchronous training materials for use by attorneys and team members
  • Keep up with new developments, technologies, innovations, and products in the fields of legal and business research
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of litigation alerts for attorneys
  • Review and evaluate practice specific web sites. Evaluate and update practice pages and internal library sites
  • Act as research liaison to assigned practice group and teams, including attending practice group meetings and reporting back on information and training needs
  • Assist in the design and maintenance of the Department\'s intranet page, including updating practice group and jurisdictional content pages
  • Follow and implement the marketing strategies developed by the Information Services team to promote the Department\'s services and resources
  • Manage physical library collection of assigned offices, including organizing and maintaining the collection, making decisions to renew or cancel resources, purchasing new publications, processing invoices, and assisting with budgeting
  • As ist with renewals and management of electronic resources used in assigned offices or practice groups
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Education & Experience:

Master\'s degree in Library or Information Science from an American Library Association accredited program, preferably with coursework in law librarianship and/or legal research. Applicants with a JD from an American Bar Association accredited program who also have the listed relevant experience are welcome to apply.

3+ years of experience in a law library, preferably a law firm library, but candidates with other law library experience will be considered

Excellent customer services skills and ability to excel under pressure

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and SharePoint

Excellent writing and editing skills

Extensive experience in the efficient use of legal and business information resources such as Westlaw Edge or Precision, Lexis Advance or Lexis+, Bloomberg Law, VitalLaw, and S&P CapitalIQ, among others

Proven ability to develop and deliver effective training to attorneys and team members

Ability to support attorneys and team members in multiple locations, across multiple time zones, using various communication stra
