Overview
The Private Wealth Business DevelopmentSpecialistis responsible forgenerating new business from both new and existing clients. Builds and maintains a qualified network of prospectsby consistently engaging with internal and external centers of influence and referral sources. Proactivelygeneratesleads and referrals through centersof influence,intimate events, referral alliances, targetedseminars,strategic networking, sourcing and introductions fromcurrentclients and relationships, and throughuseof company-approved, scrubbed lead lists. Manages client acquisition pipeline to track prospects and leads from inception to on-boarding.Drivescrossline of businessinitiativesto maximizeimpactwith clients andnewbusinessopportunities. Servesas an extension of the advisor team(s)forall things related to prospecting across the market to include sourcing and providing proactive leads through daily client acquisition strategies, assisting withexecutionof advisors business development plans, navigation and accurate communication of prospect channels, understanding of guidance on privacy policies andregulations,and having extensive knowledge oftoolsused to identify andvalidatenewprospects.
Role Responsibilities
Identify, source, and assist in qualifying affluentprospects
Build and manage prospectpipeline
Assistin identifying andassessing potentialtarget marketsandspecializations required to successfullyengage identifiedmarkets
Create, with collaboration of all teammembers, team'sunique valuestatement
Build and execute team's marketing and business development plan in support of growth goals established by theteam
Establish and maintain a digital presenceutilizingfirm-approved platforms
Create marketing materials including a teampitchbook by leveraging firm-approved, turn-keytools
Consistently meet or exceed mutually agreed uponasset&revenuegrowthgoals/hurdles
Generate sales of proprietary equity investment strategies within Merrill
Own sales performance and goals
Solidify relationships, generate new business with partner Merrill advisors and manage sales efforts
Create and implement a sales strategy
Business Plan Creation – Segmentation, time management, counterpart collaboration, etc
Leverage Technology, Expense management
Required Qualifications
Series 7, 63/65 or 66 or equivalent; mustobtainall state registrations in support of Financial Advisor(s) and AdvisorTeam(s)
SAFEACT Registration; ADV-2BRequired
Obtainand/or maintain at leastonefirm approveddesignation (CIMA, CPWM, CAIA or CFA preferred)
Possessand demonstrate strong communicationskills
Understanding of how to deliver a strong overall client experience
Thorough knowledge and understanding of thesuiteof Wealth Management products andservices
Abilityto identify opportunities for business growth, develop strategic initiatives and drive to achieve desired results / tracksuccess
Strongpartnership and relationship management skills with ability to analyze and prioritize leads / referrals that maximize team business development strategy
Ability to make sound decisions by having a deep understanding of acquisition best practices and policies/procedures
Abilityto identify client needs and concerns, and articulate appropriate approach to align solutions to goals in asuitableandcontrolledway
Proven ability to manage risk and make sounddecisions
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Finance or Business)
Enhanced problem-solving abilities, analytical abilities, and familiarity with investment strategies and concepts
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
Informed and conversant across a broad range of topics
Energetic, self-motivated, positive attitude, goal-oriented
Ability to meet deadlines, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively
Technical/Computer skills should include experience with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel
