The University of Chicago\'s Department of Radiation and Cellular Oncology is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank. Appointees should be physician scientists with clinical training in radiation oncology. If appropriate, joint appointments will be available with other academic departments and units including the Ben May Department for Cancer Research, the Committee on Cancer Biology, and the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

The appointees will be provided a competitive start-up package and protected research time. Competitive research space and start-up funding will be available, as will the potential for interactions with our affiliates, Argonne National Laboratory and the Marine Biological Laboratory.

Appointees will perform translational and/or basic research as applied to cancer and/or radiation oncology, an integral part of this position. Some areas of research in the department focus on molecular aspects of radioresistance, DNA repair, biological response modifiers, mechanisms of metastasis, and immune-oncology in combination with radiotherapy. The appointees will also perform longitudinal radiation oncology treatment to cancer patients, often in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible.
