Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Chicago, Illinois

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Chicago, Illinois. The specialist will be a part of a dynamic team, working in the fast-paced industry of payroll management. The role demands a high level of organization and attention to detail, with responsibilities centered around processing payroll, maintaining accurate records, and addressing inquiries related to payroll.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner.

• Manage and maintain comprehensive payroll records.

• Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees.

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient payroll operations.

• Use the 'Full Cycle Payroll' skill to handle all aspects of payroll from start to finish.

• Monitor and review payroll accounts to ensure accuracy.

• Identify and implement improvements to the payroll process.

• Maintain confidentiality of all payroll information.

• Stay updated with changes in payroll and tax laws.

• Report any discrepancies in payroll to the appropriate department. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role or in handling payroll operations

• Demonstrated proficiency in Full Cycle Payroll

• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are required

• Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask efficiently

• Proficiency in using payroll software and other related systems

• Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations

• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding payroll information

• Comfortable working within strict deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Professional certification in payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)) is a plus

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
