OVERVIEW

We are looking for a talented, client-service oriented, solution-focused mid-level Paralegal to join our paralegal team in our Chicago office. This role will primarily support our litigation teams. However, cross-over assistance for other practice groups may be required. Qualified individuals must have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills, and be a self-starter. Overtime and travel may be required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities

Providing comprehensive practice support and case management.

Knowledge of and adherence to high ethical and confidentiality standards.

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently, sometimes under competing deadlines, delegating appropriately.

Draft and proofread correspondence, notices, documents, and forms.

Organize electronic and paper documents for various purposes, including for use at depositions, hearings, and trial.

May file documents in various courts and jurisdictions.

Organization of documents for use at depositions, hearings, and trial.

Conduct research, as needed.

Assist with maintenance and organization of case team documents.

Assist with preparation of briefs and other legal documents.

Monitor deadlines and due dates, including organization and tracking of court filings, correspondence, deposition transcripts and exhibits, document collections and expert materials.

Search and preserve information within document review platform.

Organize and prepare trial materials, specifically filings, witness prep materials, trial notebooks, exhibits, deposition designations and demonstratives.

Attend and assist at trial and arbitrations.

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior paralegals and assistants, as required.

Ability to establish good working relationships across departments, including docketing, research, litigation support, and others, as required.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

3-6 years\' experience as a working paralegal.

Large law firm experience a plus.

Bachelor\'s degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved institution.

Flexibility for overtime and out-of-town travel, as required.

Superior organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite strongly preferred.

Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and client service skills

The anticipated pay range for this role is \$70,000-\$125,000 in Chicago. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on several factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
