Charles Schwab Manager, Software Development & Engineering in Chicago, Illinois

Duties : Responsible for the design, development, maintenance and support of highly scalable, highly performant applications that has zero downtime. Prototype, validate and create critical application solutions for business. Interact with product owner and key stakeholders in Project Management, Business, SDETs and Technology Operations to ensure high quality delivery of software projects on time and budget. Participate in technical governance, design reviews, code reviews and ensure development standards and best practices are followed. Utilize automated software test tools and frameworks such as Test-driven development to achieve software quality standards. Support SDETs with testing efforts and release and deployment and drive improvements in the release process. Troubleshoot and support applications in production in case of any issues. Responsible for logging, dashboarding and efficient monitoring to address issues proactively. Position allows for partial remote work (2-3 times in the office). Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Chicago, IL.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $161,357 to $214,700 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field and 5 years of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Position requires 5 years progressive post-Bachelor’s related experience, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: C # and .NET using Visual Studio to write backend APIs and server-side application; ASP.NET and MVC architectural pattern using Visual Studio tool to develop web application fast, reliable, flexible and secure; JQuery, JavaScript and HTML using Visual Studio Code tool to create high performant interface; SQL Server as data storage using SQL Editor; Splunk for reporting aggregated logs using Splunk queries; and JMeter for performance measurement on APIs.
