Key Responsibilities:

The Manager- Parts Manufacturer Approval position is responsible for overseeing an internationally based team of five direct reports that work with suppliers to identify and implement future alternate Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) and Owner Operator Produced Parts (OOPP) usage. This role leads Technical Operations’ cost saving and reliability initiatives while growing part suppliers to reduce supply chain shortages, ensuring annual part approval and savings targets are achieved.

  • Lead collaboration and research efforts with Engineering, Inventory Planning, and other collaborators to find opportunities to improve cost savings and supply chain supportability through aftermarket partners

  • Prioritize PMA opportunities and parts in the investigation queue that will have the largest impact to for our partner teams and organization bottom line while balancing the pipeline for direct and operational cost saving initiatives

  • Partner with OOPP suppliers and internal technical teams to build and commercialize United-owned parts throughout our fleets

  • Lead certain financial aspects of United's Technical Component Purchasing and Repair contracts and warranties

  • Build and present reporting for senior leadership on progress and achievements related to savings assembled from alternative parts programs

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field or relevant work experience

  • 4+ years of experience in fields of supply chain, airline or manufacturing industry

  • 2+ years analytical work experience

  • Analytical approach to problem solving with attention to detail and a sense of urgency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and ability to read engineering documents

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • SQL knowledge

  • Sophisticated Spotfire or Foundry

  • Experience with financial & Ap business intelligence tools

  • Experience with maintenance information systems
