Job Title: Litigation Paralegal - Must have Relativity experience (or experience using a similar eDiscovery tool)

Location: Chicago, IL

Overview:

Seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join a top Chicago Loop Law Firm. Ideal candidate has 5+ years of litigation experience with hands-on experience using the eDiscovery platform Relativity. Must possess strong critical thinking skills and have the ability to multitask.

Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys with complex litigation matters.

• Responsible for managing eDiscovery using Relativity.

• Performing initial case assessments and investigating facts to help in the development of case issues and legal theories.

• Assist in the discovery process, draft discovery requests and responses, prepare initial discovery, conduct document productions, and aid in deposition preparation.

• Coordinate with other professionals and parties, gather and maintain exhibits, documents, and files.

• Carry out legal research and analyze case law.

• Develop detailed litigation procedures and guidelines.

• Draft relevant legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, contracts, and legal memoranda.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Paralegal certification required.

• Ideal candidate haes 5+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal.

• Highly familiar with the litigation process and experience with proceedings.

• Extensive experience in eDiscovery matters, specifically using Relativity software.

• Experience e-filing in State and Federal courts.

• Exceptional research skills and excellent knowledge of legal terminology.

• Superior organization skills to manage multiple timelines and complete tasks quickly within the constraints of timelines and budgets.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Must have self-authority and the ability to work independently; however, also be able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
