JPMorgan Chase Lead Software Engineer - Finance Reference Data in Chicago, Illinois

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector's Finance Reference Data team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others as a hands-on java, angular full stack lead developer

  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies

  • Run a scrum team with agile methodologies

  • Hands-on experience in containerization, management and auto deployment of services using k8s and docker, CI/CD tools

  • Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.

  • Design and develop microservice applications and perform integration with other internal applications

  • Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

  • Serve as core engineering lead to review and provide guidance for JPMC tool set, processes, and frameworks used for development of application suites

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience in software development

  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s) including Microservices, Springboot, Java, Angular, Hibernate, Oracle, SQL, Unit Testing, Agile SDLC, Automated Testing, JUNIT, Jasmine, and Cypress.

  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods

  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems

  • Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study

  • Knowledge in React, Linux, Apache Kafka, Jenkins, NodeJS, Javascript, JQuery, Python, Shell Scripting, Apache Tomcat, REST, SOAP, Maven, Apache Ant, JSON, MongoDB, Tableau, Performance Testing, AWS, Kubernetes
