Job Description

• This role is hybrid onsite 2 days per week in Chicago, IL*

As a hands-on Lead Software Engineer, you will sit on a team of tech leads and lead engineers each responsible for a set of critical applications/projects to drive the design and development of complex, highly integrated, custom applications. You will work closely with teams of developers, system analysts, and QA testers and regularly interact with business partners regarding requirements and project milestones. This role is very hands-on and requires expertise in .NET coding, developing solutions and application designs, while working with architecture teams to contribute to overall application architectures reflect the integration of business logic, processes, and data that deliver on the business need. Guide solution delivery teams in the implementation of the solution architecture. Contribute to the architecture roadmap that integrates and aggregates all of the solutions for a business unit.

Hands-on and staying very technical.

Responsible for developing solution and designs that reflect the integration of business logic, processes, and data that deliver on the business need.

Assess, strategize, and manage the delivery of data-related projects.

Guide development and solution delivery teams in the implementation of code and application design.

Contribute to application architecture roadmap that integrates and aggregates all of the solutions for a business unit.

Skills and Requirements

7-10+ years of application software engineering experience in Microsoft technologies, expert hands-on skills with .NET, Asp.NET, C#, SQL Server, Entity Framework, and MVC for UI.

Strong hands-on coding and debugging skills, most recent role needs to be at least 90% hands-on.

Recent 1-2+ years as an application lead engineer providing technical guidance for critical projects and applications, creating application design, design inputs and outputs, prototyping solutions, coding, guiding other developers and performing code reviews.

Public cloud experience required, but hands-on experience with Azure cloud and Azure functions is highly preferred.

Understanding of API, cloud, and architecture principles and concepts.

Understanding of API challenges with scalability, maintenance and modifications, security, performance, and usability.

  Experience implementing UI with technologies like Telerik, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, or other frontend frameworks.

  Must have strong communication skills, be a thought leader who has been responsible for the development and implementation of solution roadmaps, and comfortable collaborating with technical and business leaders to understand technology challenges and ways to improve application function and productivity. Technology experience within banking or financial services is preferred
