Essential Functions:

  • Reviews the daily schedule report at the beginning of the shift to follow instructions according to the specifications.
  • Checks the material and labels for accuracy before delivering the material to the presses.
  • Obtains and supplies correct material to production equipment and presses.
  • Moves finished product and deliver to designated areas; stock material in an orderly manner.
  • Removes scrap and deliver to designated area in scrap bins; fill out scrap report.
  • Keeps assigned areas supplied with storage containers.
  • Uses banding equipment to band and move partial loads.
  • Running bundle turner machine
  • Performs hourly quality spot checks on units.
  • Records the results of quality checks.
  • Fills out production sheets and all other documentation as required.
  • Turns in load tickets and identify skids of material as required.
  • Inventory management of Material Center Work In Progress (WIP) including scroll sheers, coated material and management of multiple passes through material center to ensure BOM requirements are met during daily schedule completion
  • Notifies the mechanic of unusual of equipment and operating problems.
    • With new power Fleet implementation, forklift will automatically shut down.
    • Notifies the supervisor of any nonconforming product.
    • Makes recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the job, efficiency, quality and quantity.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the work area or the forklift.
  • May also be required to perform general quality-assurance checks.

Job Scope:

  • Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
  • In-depth knowledge of changeovers.Education and Experience:
  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Communication skills are still essential in order to help the workflow and to maintain safety.
  • Valid driver\'s license is required.
  • Job hours vary widely, and may require the forklift driver to work late-night or early-morning shifts.
  • Preferred: certified forklift driver

  • Strength: Controls hand-arm and foot-leg machinery
  • Near acuity: clarity of vision at 20 inches or less
  • Far acuity: clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
  • Depth Perception: Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships to see objects where and as they actually are.
  • Accommodation: Adjustment of lens of eye to bring an object into harp focus. This factor is required when doing near point work at varying distances from the eye.
  • Field of vision: Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
  • Ability to lift heavy items.
  • Climb under and on top of machinery, trucks, storage racks, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to read work instructions and schedule.
  • Ability to accurately fill out production paperwork.
  • Ability to keep up with accelerated pace of material needs
  • Demonstrated basic mathematical aptitude, skills in basic mathematical calculations.
  • Understands new Power Fleet Implementation requirements and Powered Industrial Truck Components for perform proper maintenance for forklift trucks.
  • Trained and authorized to operate a forklift, ability to operate a forklift, pass a written exam and hands on test.
  • Understands quality, PPE requirements, safety, and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures.
  • Understands safety and driving requirements when transferring loads from one area to another area.
