R1 RCM Follow-Up Associate II in Chicago, Illinois

As our Follow-Up Associate II, you will help resolve claims for our Penn Medicine client. Every day you will, identify, resolve, and analyze all outstanding issues preventing claim resolution. To thrive in this role you must, be knowledgeable about A/R follow up, billing and processing denial claims.
Here is what you will experience working as a Follow-Up Associate II:
You will investigate and examine the source of denials using knowledge of charge expert, ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and EDI billing.
You will identify, resolve, and analyze outstanding issues preventing claim resolution.
You will collaborate closely with third-party payers to resolve unpaid claims and determine denial reasons through corrected claim submissions, denial disputes, and appeal submissions.
You will recommend accounts for write-off to appropriate categories if the provider did not meet certain payer guidelines, such as timely capture of charges.
You will maintain key performance indicators as defined by management discretion while adhering to all HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
Required Skills:
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of billing experience (Hospital, Physician, etc…)
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $15.45 - $24.29 per hour . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
