Anywhere Real Estate Director Business Development DEI in Chicago, Illinois

The Director, Business Development will develop, implement, and lead growth strategies that enable Anywhere Franchise Brands, Integrated Services, and Brokerages to drive engagement with underserved markets poised for growth, including but not limited to Latino, Black, LGBTQ+ markets, and more. This role will report directly to Corporate with an indirect reporting line into the respective businesses. The role will be responsible for both creating new and enhancing existing programs to engage with consumers, agents, and franchisees in hyper-growth markets to make sustainable homeownership a reality. The successful candidate will bring expertise in business development, strategic planning, community development, project management, data analytics, relationship building, influencing, and financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify underserved markets and their unique needs and challenges.

  • Create a comprehensive go-to-market strategy to reach underserved consumers by leveraging Anywhere’s enterprise platform (Brokerage, Franchise, Title, Mortgage, and Insurance).

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with strategic trade partners such as the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, the Asian Real Estate Association of America, the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, and the LGBTQ+ Alliance to build strategic alliances that connect us to the communities we serve.

  • Leverage trade partner networks to enhance reach to local communities and real estate professionals.

  • Lead the Inclusive Ownership Program and determine strategies to scale it for the future, including criteria, investment, and program elements to enable sustainable business growth.

  • Create a formal cohort of leaders to provide VOC (Voice of Customer), mastermind opportunities, etc.

  • Provide monthly metric reports on the strategic plan.

  • Drive business strategies focused on increasing diverse agent recruitment and broker affiliations.

  • Liaise with franchise sales to identify prospects and participate in VIP events.

Education:

  • Create a national education program focused on financial literacy, how homeownership fuels wealth building, and what products and partners are available to assist.

  • Advocate in Washington DC in partnership with the Industry Affairs function to garner support in removing barriers to homeownership for underserved markets.

  • Work cross-functionally to leverage content that can be repurposed.

  • Identify partners that can serve as subject matter experts.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to determine how best to create and deliver educational content.

  • Develop and execute local market activations that align with the values of DEI, fostering fair housing principles and positive change within our communities.

  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance cultural fluency and awareness among leaders, brokers, agents, franchisees, and customer-facing roles to enable business growth, ensuring these stakeholders feel supported and equipped to navigate diverse communities and client bases.

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Assess the industry landscape and beyond to determine strategic partnerships with industry leaders, associations, and influencers to build strategic alliances that provide new product offerings benefiting underserved communities.

  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for joint ventures, sponsorships, and collaborative initiatives across all stakeholders.

  • Create an external network of thought leaders willing to participate in an open access forum for best practice sharing.

  • Facilitate relationships between DEI champions and networks across our brands with key real estate organizations to deepen and broaden engagement among members.

Measures:

  • Define and work towards measurable metrics of success to gauge impact, create accountability, and continuously improve.

  • Build out and maintain scalable systems, tools, and processes that contribute to operational efficiencies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver enterprise experiences that foster a culture of inclusion.

  • Actively look for opportunities to fulfill overlapping stakeholder objectives.
