Job Summary:

The Digital Tech Support Analyst on the Cat Digital Support team is responsible for supporting all aspects of data acquisition and reporting from various data platforms.

This position has a depth of knowledge in quantitative analytic methods, data management and web development suitable to handle the most complex issues. Challenges include meeting expectations in delivering results, learning to refine solutions to better fit complex situations, making timely decisions, ensuring quality of deliverables, and communicating effectively with all project stakeholders.

What You Will Do:

  • Support Cat Digital Support efforts by developing ETL data pipelines and scripts and services using a variety of languages and technologies and supporting data and server management strategy.

  • Work with business partners to understand functional needs, gather requirements, and dive into data to rapidly prototype new ideas, concepts, and designs

  • Collaborate with a team of developers to design industry-leading systems and analytical solutions utilizing the full development lifecycle, including analysis, design, test, and delivery

  • Use data quality best practices to ensure the integrity of the data being used and thoroughness of results.

  • Minimize technical debt and focus on reproducibility (keep docs/code up to date, prepare for future use cases, etc.) and automation of reports by building end to end pipelines.

  • Present tools and solutions to internal and external users as well as senior leadership.

  • Leverage business acumen to recognize new opportunities for analytics to improve the end user support experience.

What You Will Have:

Effective Communications:

Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Data Warehousing:

Knowledge of how to collect data from different information sources and distribute them to users; ability to simplify information systems and make sound business decisions.

Application Design, Architecture:

Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.

Business Intelligence:

Knowledge of business intelligence; ability to utilize business processes and technologies for gathering, storing, analyzing, and providing access to data that helps the organization make better business decisions.

Technical Troubleshooting:

Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on software, application or operation.

Systems Thinking:

Knowledge of the critical interdependencies among individual system elements that help and hinder performance; ability to plan and design solutions that synchronize resources to achieve business results.

Considerations For Top Candidates:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering, information technology, statistics, or a similar field.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in data pipeline or web development, and data analysis.

  • 5+ years of experience using Python, C#, ASP.NET, SQL and server administration

  • Experience in Oracle, Salesforce, Snowflake, and machine learning algorithms is a plus.

  • Power BI or other Data Visualization experience

  • Desire to maintain diverse skills and stay abreast of new technologies to apply to a wide variety of projects.

  • Self-start with ability to learn, adapt, improvise, and problem solve with poise in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Exhibit strong planning and organization, excellent initiative, the ability to delegate tasks effectively, and well-honed interpersonal and leadership skills.

Additional Details:

This position has the option to be based out of either our Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL, Dallas, TX or Denver, CO offices with a flexible hybrid work environment.

Summary Pay Range:

$95,640.00 - $143,520.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
