GCG Corporate Paralegal in Chicago, Illinois
Overview
GCG is currently seeking a skilled Paralegal to join our dynamic Corporate Legal team.
In this role, you'll be integral to the management of our company's real estate portfolio, state and federal registrations, contract management system, and legal operations. Your business-oriented approach and operational focus will be crucial in supporting our company's continued growth and success.
This position offers a remote work arrangement however we are looking for individuals that can commute to a GCG facility as needed. Accordingly, we are seeking candidates in Chicago, IL, Milwaukee, WI, St Louis, MI, Cleveland, OH, or Cincinnati, OH to facilitate ease of travel to a GCG facility.
What you'll do
Manage the company's real estate portfolio, including landlord and broker relationships, negotiation processes, and lease/sublease management
Oversee corporate governance matters, including maintenance of board and committee records, and compliance documentation
Support due diligence processes, data room management, and document preparation for financings and M&A transactions
Coordinate closings and handle post-closing matters, including filings with federal, state, and local authorities
Maintain and optimize legal file systems and processes
Assist in developing and implementing legal and compliance policies
Manage state and federal filings and registrations for the company and its subsidiaries
Review simple legal agreements under attorney supervision
Drive legal department operations, including management of the legal SharePoint site
What you'll bring
8-10 years of experience, with preference for recent experience in an in-house corporate role
Strong background in corporate matters
Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and document management systems (iManage preferred but not required)
Expertise in contract management, NDA review, and regulatory filings
Adaptability to work across different legal areas without specializing in a single type of filing
Capability to work remotely and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision
A proactive problem-solver who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under time and resource constraints
Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders
Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail
Outstanding written and oral communication abilities
